Introduction to Centering Prayer

Saturday, February 10, 2018 (9:00 am-3:00 pm; includes lunch)
Leader: Br. Keith Nelson, SSJE

Centering prayer is a gentle practice of silent, spacious communion with God through consent to God’s abiding presence within. Grounded solidly in the Western Christian contemplative tradition, its subtle fruits are realized in daily life as a deepening intention of Love toward God and a reconfigured quality of attention toward the whole of life. As a complement to the disciplines of worship and Christian life in community, centering prayer holds profound potential as a means for integrating inner stillness and loving service.

This day-long, beginner level, experiential training will offer a thorough introduction to the theory and practice of centering prayer.
