Innovative RJ Lecture

On Thursday October 1st,  7:00 pm – 8:30 pm:

Join us for a conversation about the role of art in re-imagining justice at the University of Ottawa, Fauteux Hall, room 137.

Our public lecture will see Jamie Scott deliver a ‘Restorative Justice 101’ introducing you to the philosophical, theoretical, and practical underpinnings of restorative justice, before longtime restorative justice facilitator, Rev. Dr.Ron Hunt, presents an emotional firsthand account of restorative justice in action as well as it’s applicability to healing damage in not just the criminal context, but the civil context.  We will also be discussing the role of art in social justice, with Lorraine Berzins highlighting the 10th anniversary of The Justice Storytelling Quilt, a CCJC-sponsored project by multi-media artist, Meagan O’Shea.
Finally, we will be launching the CCJC’s Restorative Justice Week campaign,

Imagine Justice Exhibition.  This innovative call for submissions invites students to take the information presented to them in the lecture and create pieces of art reflecting their responses to restorative justice
