Instructor(s)
Brett is a speaker, writer, teacher, pastor, dad, partner, pilgrim, and pet lover. In 1999, Brett went on his first pilgrimage with members of the Pilgrimage of Vocation of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe, NM, to Chimayo, NM, and nothing has been the same. Since then, he has been on pilgrimage in Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, the Holy Land, the British Isles, Spain, and Central America, usually returning every once in a while, going back to Chimayo, NM. In 2007, after teaching at Duke University for over a decade, he began the religious non-profit, School of the Pilgrim (www.schoolofthepilgrim.com), leading church groups on pilgrimage here and abroad. Along with many articles, sermons, and essays on pilgrimage, he has also written three books on pilgrimage: Follow Me (NY: Seabury Press); School of the Pilgrim (Louisville: W/JKP); and soon to be published, Practicing Pilgrimage (Eugene: Cascade Books).
