For Those Who Want to Deepen and Strengthen the Practice of Group Spiritual Direction
Monday, September 21 to Wednesday, September 23, 2020 via Zoom

Overview

As we are all so keenly aware these days, things have changed dramatically for in-person events. In light of this, we have re-envisioned our upcoming Group Spiritual Direction Workshop for Zoom. (Audio and video connections are required to participate in this workshop.) Our schedule is planned as follows:

Monday, September 21: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET via Zoom
(Please plan to log on between 10:00 and 11:00 AM to test your Zoom connection.)

Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23: 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM ET via Zoom

These sessions will be offered live with experienced staff present. The first part of our time each day will be in the full group with presentations from the staff and some experiential exercises. The second part will be in small listening groups with a designated staff person that will follow the group spiritual direction process that we teach. All of this will be woven in prayer! Consider preparing a quiet, sacred space in your home that will support your prayerful participation in this Workshop.

Whether you are new to group spiritual direction, wish to explore it further, or are seeking support and guidance for forming a group, please consider joining us for this workshop.

• Experience group spiritual direction each day with an experienced facilitator;
• Deepen your contemplative grounding for this prayer practice through authentic sharing and faithful listening;
• Expand your capacity to listen to God on behalf of others;
• Find support for your call and explore ways to develop this ministry in your geographic area;
• Nurture trust and discover how this process can transform the world.

Participants will immerse themselves in our virtual spiritual community as they experience group spiritual direction and explore their own call to this ministry. Through live experiential learning, presentations, small groups, and prayerful silence, participants will steep themselves in the contemplative grounding which is the heart of this ministry. Presentations will include an introduction to the practice of group spiritual direction, as well as the themes of listening, spiritual community, discernment and intercessory prayer. Each person will have the opportunity to experience and practice this listening/sharing process which aids depth, trust and healing.
