August 18, 2013 – August 23, 2013
2013 LIturgical Arts Conference
Renewing the spirit. Enriching the mind. Inspiring hands and voices.
The sixteenth Kanuga Liturgical Conference has a new FACE embodying the work of the church and the individual expressions of our faith through our hands, eyes and voices. Participants may choose from one of five morning classes in blackwork embroidery, needlepoint, photography, weaving or quilting. The afternoon offerings include choral singing, flower arranging, recycling and care of linens, and Biblical storytelling.Discover or develop your personal creative abilities as you work, share and play in an encouraging Christian community.
Participants have the opportunity to develop new creative skills they can enjoy for years to come as well as to create beautiful works of art.
Morning classes are led by some of the finest artisans in their fields. Concentrate on one of five areas, with each instructor employing a hands-on approach. Kits and supplies are provided by instructors at an additional cost.
Afternoon offerings include classes on choral singing, story telling, flower arranging, recycling old church linens and vestments and a guided stations of the cross around Kanuga Lake. You are also free to work on projects, nap, go for a hike, or simply relax in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
