An innovative gathering, Evangelism Matters is for those seeking a place to share, learn, and grow the Church’s capacity and passion for evangelism. Rising at a critical moment in the life of The Episcopal Church and as a part of the Jesus Movement, this conference will engage participants through inspiring presentations, valuable workshops and resources, and shared experiences in a community setting. Hosted by the Diocese of Dallas, and the Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas, TX.

Co-sponsored by Forward Movement and the Presiding Bishop’s Office, this two-day conference will equip and empower evangelists for the journey ahead—communicating the Good News of Jesus in the Episcopal tradition.

This conference is limited to 400 participants. Register early to ensure your space.

Cost (Includes lunch and dinner on Friday. Excludes lodging; see below for hotel information)

– Conference fee: $100 ($125 after August 31) – Seminarians & Church Planters conference fee: $75

The conference begins on Friday, November 18 at 9:00 a.m., and ends Saturday, November 19 at noon. Detailed schedule and list of workshops coming soon.


Several hotels near the Church of the Transfiguration have block rates for participants. These rates expire anywhere from early September to early November, depending on the hotel, so please book your accommodations early to ensure the discounted rate.

Airport: Participants are strongly encouraged to carpool and rent cars from the airport. Taxi services will likely not be as cost effective due to distance from local airports (estimated fare: $75 each way). Uber is a good option as well (estimated fare: $22-28 each way).

Hotels & Conference Site: The four conference hotel options are located near each other, but not within a convenient walking distance of the Church of the Transfiguration (conference site). Participants are 100% responsible for arranging their own travel, however for the community’s convenience, Forward Movement has set up two Google Docs for participants to connect and arrange ride sharing.
