2014 Lansing Lee Conference

October 26, 2014 – October 28, 2014

Experiencing Eternity

This three-day conference will explore the ways God reaches across time and space to meet us, and how this connection shapes and transforms our lives. Celebrate the transcendent power of God’s love with powerful story, great worship and creative experiences in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The 2014 Lansing Lee Conference* welcomes Dr. Eben Alexander, the neurosurgeon whose near-death experience has intrigued millions as he shared new understanding of life, heaven and the divine. His New York Times best-selling book, Proof of Heaven, is the story of his 2008 ordeal in which he spent six days in a meningitis-induced coma, unresponsive to the treatments of doctors and nurses. However, unbeknownst to his family, friends and medical staff who held vigil, he was on a miraculous journey of healing and divine understanding beyond comprehension. On the seventh day his eyes opened and his story has since inspired millions—he had been in heaven.

“We walked together between life and death as Eben’s body gave way to infection,” says the Rev. Michael Sullivan, Alexander’s priest and chaplain for this year’s conference. “Talking with doctors and nurses, I knew his time was up, but right when I was ready to administer last rites, he came back to us. Nothing could have prepared me for what I would hear and see over the next days. Eben is indeed his own ‘proof of Heaven.’”

Join us to hear about Eben’s journey and how it can change your pilgrimage through life as well.

The conference will offer a complete experience, including: formal presentations, a book signing and fireside chat with Eben, workshops and panel discussions led by Eben and a team of experts in related fields, small group discussions and daily morning yoga sessions, plus plenty of free time to reflect and/or explore Kanuga’s 1,400 mountain acres.

*The annual Lansing Lee Conference honors the memory of Lansing B. Lee Jr. of Augusta, GA. Lee participated in many aspects of Kanuga’s programs and governance for more than 50 years. The conference focuses on the theme “Practicing the Faith” with each event exploring a different dimension of that topic in the context of the world, nation, the Church, and society. The Lansing Lee conference is made possible by an endowment established by Lee’s wife Natalie.
