The Changing Climate
in Nature & Religion
April 4-6, 2013
Arden Park Hotel – Stratford, Ontario
This past year–especially this past summer–has intensified our awareness of climate change and its effects on the weather, on the planet, on our very lives. Thus, the title of the 2013 SnowStar Annual Conference: The Changing Climate in Nature & Religion.
We’ll begin with a presentation from Environment Canada’s foremost Senior Climatologist, David Phillips. Without the grounding David will provide, we can not even begin to comprehend the scope of the crisis we are facing and the changes we’ll have to make.
In addition to Phillips, two dynamic scholars will help us understand some of the complexities of environmental ethics. Walter Robinson is a challenging and visionary scholar/author. He has a Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Religion and is also a Buddhist Priest. Chris Kraatz, Jr. also has a Ph.D. in Religion. He, too, is a scholar/
author who has been awarded two university outstanding teacher awards. Together, Walter and Chris both teach Environmental Ethics at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.
