Overview and Introduction
The congregational culture is shifting with unprecedented speed and the challenge for pastors and congregations to adapt to these shifts is enormous. Pastors with skills in transitional ministry can greatly improve the congregation’s ability to maneuver through these shifts and re-examine and re-calibrate their ministry focus.
The Synod of the Northeast (PCUSA) and the Office of Continuing Education at Princeton Theological Seminary is pleased to offer Weeks One and Two of Transitional and Interim Ministry Education. This event provides unique instruction, combining conceptual and theoretical paradigms with practical applications in order to equip leaders in their support of congregations in transition.
This course is designed to provide the basic skills for ministers who have just begun their interim ministry, looking to explore more the transitional nature of ministry or contemplating this form of service as a future calling. Ecumenical participation is welcomed and encouraged. The curriculum for both weeks has been standardized by the Presbyterian Interim Ministry Education Consortium, which coordinates events at regional sites across the country.
