St. John’s House, B.C. (SSJD):
A new venture for the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine began in November of 2002 at the invitation of the Rt. Rev. Barry Jenks, Bishop of the Diocese of British Columbia.
Our work in the Diocese will include:
Participating in a ministry of prayer and presence, including intercessory prayer for the Diocese
Visiting and praying with congregations throughout the Diocese
Leading retreats and quiet days, preaching, and witnessing to the religious life throughout the Diocese
Participating in leadership teams and as resource persons for diocesan and parish events
Providing a house of prayer and worship within the context of St. John’s House, B.C.
Developing a ministry of hospitality, retreats, and spiritual direction at St. John’s House, B.C.
As time and opportunities allow, undertaking outreach to other western dioceses
Involving ourselves in some local inner city outreach work
The Sisters in the Diocese of British Columbia also provide support to our Associates in British Columbia and Alberta, and to our Oblates across the country.
