Southdown was founded to address the needs of religious and clergy around addictions and mental health issues.
Since 1966, our interdisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, addictions counsellors, spiritual directors, and related professionals have helped those who minister find healing and wholeness.
Southdown provides psychological services ranging from comprehensive assessments through residential programming to post-residential continuing care. Our staff also offers leadership consultation, outpatient counselling and opportunities for educational programming.
Southdown has recently moved from its old location in Aurora to a newly build facility in Holland Landng, Ontario. Approximately 40 miles north of Toronto, the Institute is easily accessible from Toronto Pearson International Airport. Southdown can accommodate up to 20 persons, and serves men and women from across North America and throughout the English-speaking world.
Southdown remains committed to assisting the Church to provide healthy ministers and develop healthy communities of faith. Majority of residents who come to Southdown are sponsored by a religious community or diocese, however we continue to raise additional funds to support those who come from communities with scarce resources.
The Institute is a fully accredited by Accreditation Canada.
