The theme for the Lambeth Conference 2020 has been announced as preparations for the event gather pace. It’s to be “God’s Church for God’s World: walking, listening and witnessing together”.
The Archbishop of Canterbury is preparing to invite more than 900 bishops from around the worldwide Anglican Communion to the conference which will take place in Canterbury, England, in the summer of 2020. Formal invitations will be sent out later this year. For the first time, there will be a joint programme for bishops and spouses.
24 July – 3 August, 2020.
Includes a retreat, Bible studies, plenary sessions, teaching and seminars and a day in London.
Many churches in the UK and Ireland will run a hospitality programme to welcome visitors days before the conference starts.
