Worship and Music – Week 5 with Meagan Crosby-Shearer and Rob Crosby-Shearer

 

MEAGAN CROSBY-SHEARER has a rich and varied life experience. Born in Victoria, she has a passion for creative liturgy and prayer, for social justice, and for engaging ways of telling our faith story.

Meagan has been involved in musical theatre and gospel choirs. She also loves reading, and enjoying the beauty of the West Coast!

She served in the Philippines for a year as an “ecumenical-intern-in-mutual-mission” with the United Church of Canada.

Meagan is Formation Director for The Emmaus Community: www.emmauscommunity.ca. She is trained as a registered nurse and is currently a priest at the Abbey: a church plant that is part of the Emmaus Community: www.abbeychurch.ca

 

ROB CROSBY-SHEARER has worked in Christian ministry for the last 15+ years. Rob co-founded the Jeremiah Community in Toronto, lived for five years in Zacchaeus House, a Catholic worker community house of hospitality, served as music director at the campus-based Wine Before Breakfast, worked as National Youth Ministry Coordinator with PWRDF, directed a festival with the Canadian Council of Churches and has been involved in campus ministry and congregational ministry in various traditions.

He has co-owned an organic bakery, makes all kinds of music, and loves hiking, bike riding and touring. He also loves cooking and coffee!

Rob currently is co-prior of the Emmaus Community, a church planter with the Abbey (church) and a deacon-in-transition with the Diocese of BC.
