Wings and Wildflowers of the Shuswap

with Dirk and Karen (Rinehart) Pidcock

Sunday, June 10 – Thursday, June 14, 2012

The beautiful Shuswap region of British Columbia contains a rich variety of landscapes and habitats to explore and delight the senses. We will venture into several of them to discover what they reveal.

Our examination will pay particular attention to birds and plants. As well as enhancing participants’ skills in identifying birds and plants, the course will also work toward identifying those Christian spiritual foundations that allow us to truly love the world of nature.

DIRK AND KAREN (RINEHART) PIDCOCK have been amateur naturalists for many decades, fully embracing the rich root meaning of the word “amateur” (meaning “lover”). Dirk and Karen lived at Sorrento Centre during the time that Dirk was its Executive Director. Dirk and Karen now live in the West Kootenay village of Kaslo, British Columbia.

Course Fee: $200

Senior’s discount of 10% off accommodation for this week for anyone age 55 or older.
