The Journey Between : Intentional Interim Ministry at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center, Carefree, Ariz.
This course is designed specifically to present an abbreviated and intense overview of the work of intentional interim ministry with congregations in transition. This overview is intended for trained interim pastors who want a refresher, for judicatory leaders and for conventionally called pastors who are interested in knowing how interim ministry works to their benefit during transition time.
This course will reacquaint trained intentional interim pastors, as well as familiarize judicatory staff and conventionally called pastors with the concepts, material and methods used by intentional interim pastors as they help congregations work through the practical and emotional challenges that come with change of pastoral leadership.
Topics covered in this event will be:
- Congregational assessment during a time of pastoral change
- Pastoral leadership during the interim time
- What needs to be done? Who does what? Whose job is it?
- Exercising leadership during the interim time
- Evaluating the congregational system
- The Leadership Learning Wheel
- Transition task force
