Learning Tour to Nepal for Youth Leaders

In a village in rural Nepal, community members gather fresh water from a newly-built irrigation pump with a sign above that reads, ‘Funded by the Bowden Federal Penitentiary, Alberta, Canada’.

Do you work with youth in a local youth club or school? Are you interested in learning about global hunger issues and want to take actions to end hunger internationally? Do you want to engage the youth with whom you work on global issues and help them take action?

Canadian Foodgrains Bank is inviting educators and youth leaders to join us in Nepal from January 28-February 10, 2018 (approximately) to learn more about Canada’s role in supporting agriculture and food security around the world!

The delegation will learn about food security issues in Nepal, visit projects supported by Canadian Foodgrains Bank and the Government of Canada, and explore ways to teach Canadian youth about international hunger issues. Two staff of Canadian Foodgrains Bank will accompany the group during the tour.

Upon their return to Canada, participants must be committed to participating in advocacy initiatives and community awareness activities.

Canadian Foodgrains Bank will cover the bulk of the costs of the tour. Selected participants are asked to contribute $500 towards the cost of the tour.
