Overview

In the life of most congregations, it is in worship that the proverbial ‘rubber hits the road.’ In worship we not only pray and praise, but also are taught, challenged, cared for, and sent out in mission. Yet often the curricula of our schools offer little in the way of integration of our learning with the practices of worship. This institute is for all who plan and lead worship services whether pastors, musicians, liturgical artists, or lay leaders.

The offerings of the Institute of Worship are further expanded through workshops and activities presented by the Presbyterian Association of Musicians and the concurrent meetings of two other institutes: the Institute of Theology and the Engle Institute of Preaching. All institutes will worship together and share in a common study of scripture. The Institute of Worship and the Institute of Theology schedules will allow for cross registration. We are setting the table for you. We hope you will come and join theologians, scholars, musicians, and artists for an exciting experience.
