Fierce Love: Holding Suffering With Compassion – 2nd Annual Women’s Leadership Forum
In this companion retreat to “Empowering Women to Lead in the 21st Century”, we as women will explore suffering in our world— interpersonal, individual and collective. Experiential tools of sacred storytelling, shadow work, Interplay, prayer and ritual, dreamwork and the Way of the Curandera will be utilized to help us courageously and compassionately begin to name and work with suffering in our lives and world. How might we allow suffering to transform us so we can be of greater service to the world? Can we re-imagine suffering as a teacher in our lives and those of our ancestors and our children? As the 13th c. Persian mystic Rumi wrote about our human sufferings in The GuestHouse: Welcome and entertain them all! even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture. Still, treat each guest honorably. (S)he may be clearing you out for some new delight.
Here in the high desert of Ghost Ranch, amidst the fierce beauty and sustenance of the landscape and her inhabitants, we will explore embodied practices that can move us towards healing and renewal of our bodies and souls. We will refresh our vision and encourage one another to fully name and claim who we are and what we need to return to our daily lives and the work at hand.
This course is open to all who are being called to lead in ways of Spirit as lovers of God, self, neighbor, earth; whether clergy, teacher, healing practitioner, therapist, scientist, mother, activist or other.
Retreat will be resourced by Rev. Anita Amstutz, Judy Bierbaum, Dr. Adonna Rometo, Peggy Marquez Garcia and Michelle Reinteria and local healers.
Please note that our workshop price structure packages your tuition, course materials, lodging and meals together in a single rate. Prices are presented for each of the types of lodging available for the workshop you select. All rates are Per Person, Double Occupancy unless otherwise specified.
Single Occupancy: Single occupancy rooms may be reserved for an additional $50 per night when space is available. The fee will be charged when space is confirmed. Single occupancy lodging is generally not available during June and July. If you are a single person and do not specify a roommate, a roommate of the same gender will be assigned to share your lodging space or you can request the single occupancy and be charged the supplement of an additional $50 per night (based on availability).
