Christian Leaders 2017

Saturday 4 – Sunday 10 November 2017

Christian leaders

Encounter Jesus who has been called the greatest leader. He will be central to our course and every aspect of leadership we address will refer back to his example. We will consider things that were important to him as a leader and that he modelled throughout his ministry.

Encounter yourself as a leader as you ask big questions and reflect on your leadership experiences, challenges and context. This unique course will develop you as an inspiring and influential leader with a servant’s heart.

This course is based on Biblical scholarship, case studies of exemplary leaders, past and present, the extensive research undertaken by Kouzes and Posner (www.leadershipchallenge.com) and field work in Rome and Assisi.

Attending this course will strengthen your ability to lead and to make a positive difference in the world, doing God’s work most effectively, and believing you can have a positive impact.

We will learn from…

Past leaders who shaped the church in earliest times and continue to influence us: St Peter, St Paul, St Benedict, Sts Francis and Clare of Assisi, and St Augustine.

We will study…

Contemporary Church leaders:
Archbishop Justin Welby, Pope Francis and others.

Objectives for the course:

  • To support both emerging and experienced leaders, in understanding and sustaining effective leadership practice.
  • To help leaders understand their vocation within the global Body of Christ, now and into the future.
  • To assist emerging leaders develop their competence and confidence.
  • To guide leaders on an inner transformational journey that develops ‘the leader within’.

“Those who attended this course in 2015 and 2016 found it very helpful. The global church is at the forefront of new initiatives that witness to God’s enduring love for all humanity, expressed supremely through the life of Jesus. The development of leaders to fulfill this mission is a high priority for the Anglican Church.

I am excited that the Anglican Centre in Rome is again providing this opportunity for leaders and already there are people booked in so enquire now.”
