Engaging Ecumenism: November 5th-11th, 2017
Led by: Fr. Frans Bouwen and Fr. Bill Russell, M. Afr
In this week, you will have the opportunity to encounter, question, and dialogue with Christians from across denominations. You will meet members of religious orders, priests, pastors, and local participants in ecumenical concerns. The week will include visits to local oriental churches, Patriarchates, and an extraordinary half day experience in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. You will have the chance to study current ecumenical issues facing the Christian world today. The group will synthesize the week by critically reflecting on each of the participant’s own ecumenical understanding, experience, and reality, and produce an ecumenical statement. Additionally, you will discover the diversity of prayer in Jerusalem and participate in the prayer life of the Tantur community animated by Brothers of the Taize Community in France (to be confirmed).
